Who we are

Take A Seat is operated from Norway. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Norwegian data protection law (Personopplysningsloven).

Data we collect

When you use Take A Seat, we collect:

• Your name and email address (provided via Apple Sign-In)
• Profile photo (if you choose to upload one)
• Seating spots you add (location, description, photos)
• Reviews and ratings you submit
• Your approximate location (to show nearby spots)

We do not collect data beyond what is needed for the app to function.

Legal basis

We process your data based on:

• Consent: you choose to create an account and contribute content
• Legitimate interest: to operate the service, prevent abuse, and improve the app

How we use your data

Your data is used to:

• Display your profile and contributions in the app
• Show relevant spots near your location
• Calculate ratings and community statistics
• Prevent abuse and maintain service quality

Data storage and processors

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore and Storage), hosted within the EU/EEA. Google acts as a data processor under GDPR. No data is sold or shared with third parties for marketing.

Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

• Access your data (use "Export My Data" in Account Management)
• Delete your account and personal data (use "Delete Account")
• Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account
• Lodge a complaint with the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet) at datatilsynet.no

Data retention

Your personal data is kept as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your personal data is removed. Seating spots you added are preserved anonymously as community contributions.
